PLEXUS presents five world premieres by composers hailing from five diverse cities in a celebration of the pulsating energy that courses through the veins of modern urban life. These inspired artists, from five very different backgrounds and stylistic visions, represent a fascinating cross section of today’s compositional landscape.
Since launching in 2014, PLEXUS has commissioned over 100 composers, and given 50 world premieres. In 2016, PLEXUS continues to avidly support new music with a series of concerts at the Melbourne Recital Centre featuring the first performances of a total of fifteen works commissioned by the group.
PLEXUS: Pulsations is co-presented with Melbourne Recital Centre as part of their 2016 Southbank Series, and is featured as part of the 2016 Metropolis New Music Festival – ‘Music of the Cities’.
