PLEXUS announces a new and exciting three-concert series at Deakin Edge, Federation Square in the heart of our great city of Melbourne. Join us as we launch PLEXUS SQUARED, where we share our exhilaration of collaboration with extraordinary performers from different quadrants of the artistic universe.

We are joined for the launch by legendary actors Helen Morse and Paul English, two of the brightest stars in the constellation of Australian theatre.

With Helen, we reunite Poulenc’s exquisite and rarely heard incidental music to the Jean Anouilh play L’Invitation au Chateau, with Helen’s own vignette of flavoursome excerpts from Anouilh’s piquant satire on the French Aristocracy.

With Paul, we tell Igor Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat, a dark Russian folk tale that follows the downfall and utter ruin of a soldier after he makes a pact with the Devil, in a performance also featuring an adaptation of the words written especially for the trio version by author and librettist Douglas J. Penick.

PLEXUS also performs the world premieres of two rising stars of Australian composition, Jonathan Dreyfus (Melbourne) and Samuel Dickenson (Brisbane).
